JRSC guys UNITE

...because I need some serious help here. I just bought Jackson Racing's Prelude SH kit off ebay. It's been used for less than 3,000 miles and is supposed to be a COMPLETE kit. My concern is that this is probably the most complex kit Jackson sells, and I'm not sure if the guy is going to remember to strip every single little thing.

The good news is that it's being shipped COD so that I can check it out before I pay. This is where you guys come in. My plan is to concentrate on the major components because I can probably get all the little screws and such that might be missing at the local hardware store.

I need you guys to list to the best of your knowledge (especially you Schwett) all of the major components you can recall. This will help me greatly while trying to assure that the kit is complete. I'll even start:

Eaton M62 blower
oil filter relocation kit
dryer hose (hehe)
Prelude black box (Fuel management unit???)

Thanks for any help guys
Brandon

not so sure what kit comes on the SH but here is what i can think of:

*Supercharger
*Miscellaneous belts and pulleys, You may want to get them replace...in fact i think you should
*JR fuel pump
*JR BTC
*Prelude EMS (for the BTC aka Map Controller)
*JR FPR (fuel pressure regulator)

thats all can think of up the top of my head... posting from work... hope this helps if not you can always call Jackson Racing

Good Luck

Thanks Schwett, I've seen that before, that's how I know there are soo many parts. But for the sake of simplicity I was hoping you guys could give the generic names for the major parts. So I can open the box, quickly identify all the major parts, and decide if I want it or not. It would take me an hour or more to go down this list and try to identify all the parts (i don't think the UPS man is going to hang out that long .

ah, that's the SH kit bill of materials. despite the fact
that they sent me the SH kit, it came in a base kit box and
with the base kit bill of materials...

the only difference should be the oil filter relocation hose
hardware bag.

Gee....where did you get that list? (http://preludeonline.com/showthread....threadid=24538)

Just to set the record straight (for now, at least), the infamous Prelude EMS 'black box' is used to contain both the BTC and the MAP Controller. These two 'upgrades' come separate from the other B-series kits, and are one of the main reasons why our kit costs so much more. These two parts combined retail at $580 (from JR's website).

As for Brandon, congrats on winning the auction. The most effective way, as I said, is to sit down with the Parts list and check them off one by one, and use your own discretion when it comes to parts that are missing. In other words, if all you see missing in the kit are a couple bolts or washers here and there, obviously you should take the kit and use the Parts List as a guide to help you find the right parts at a hardware store. If you're missing a bracket or spacer, then it's a little tougher. Try calling JR to see if they'll send you these types of items separately at a nominal fee.

Good luck, and realize that the effectivenes of your kit hinges on all the parts being present and installed correctly.

ummmmmmm Iranman.......NO offence but if you think i took the info. from Your link then you are DEAD WRONG ... if i have, i would have Posted that Link and GIVE CREDIT TO YOU ! So no need to

i post regulary and get most of my info at Superhonda.com but this is a much better forum for the prelude and i just found this site a few days ago.... and for the info on the "Black Box" i at first thought it was Just the JR BTC......but You actually cleared it up for me in YOUR VPAC Post and told me it was the EMF.

[QUOTE]Yes, the Prelude EMS contains both the BTC and the MAP Controller. Another reason why the Prelude kit costs more than the other kits.[B]

so Gee....... please dont think i took any info from you and not give you the proper credit.......ANY SMART Person who is buying or in the market of buying a JRSC kit will DO their HOMEWORK and find out what the kit comes with and have the BASIC knowledge of it....... As in My Self ...

Whoa there, fella.

My bad, I was just messin' w/ ya. Besides, even if you did take it, I wouldn't care. I'd probably make fun of you, but it wouldn't mean a thing to me.

Either way, no hard feelings?
