I'm new here so lets bring on some heat!!!

Hey guys i just recently bought a 1998 honda prelude sh! I love it I've wanted one of these since i was like 12 lol it is stock except exhuast and intake. I just changed all the belts including timing belt. It has an alarm and shaved door handles with poppers. i bought it for $2,500 so i thought it was a steal!! here are some pics of it enjoy

now I know this is not the new members sections, but I do have some questions

I'm going to turbo it and ive already started building don't tell me not to cuz i wont listen haha but i would like some ideas on parts to get for it??

so far i have turbo, wastegate, manifold, oil lines, and downpipe.

i believe i'll need injectors, fuel rail, hi flow fuel filter, intercooler and piping, and low comp pistons. im going to hone my block and go 9.0:1 mahle gold pistons and eagle rods combo. also wideban o2 with a/f ratio gauge and boost gauge?
am i missing anything?

this will be my first turbo car build and I want to do it right. where would be the best place to buy the parts economically above lol

Now i know most idiots will say search without even reading it.

I would just like ideas of good name parts that arent going to be a fortune...

And yes i know that "you get what you pay for" and "do it right the first time" bull$hit!

i know there are ways to get it done right without paying a lot of money. any help is appreciated.

Let me know how that works out for you. Quality parts are expensive. Get used to it.

You made a poor choice if you want a turbo car. You will need an aftermarket ECM, which means no functional ATTS, which means you will be hauling around a heavy worthless ATTS unit 24/7.

I love this kid's mindset. "I'm an idiot, but don't bother telling me, because I don't want to hear it."

the atts is removed so not really thanks.... it may be my first turbo build but not my first build....... i've love the lude's forever and tee dot i knew you would chime in..... you always seem to be good for absolutely....... nothing! but thanks just saying instead of buying a 900 manifold i had my own built or instead of buying the best intercooler money can buy ill go ebay and save some money. just didnt know for the fuel rail if its aem or nothing; or with injectors if there are different brands...... i mean id like it better if people who have or had a turbo'd 5th gens would chime in..... if yours is then by all means give some input...... if not stfu and quit getting your count higher.... im just here to learn not to be harassed

I too will be turboing my 5th gen soon. I love my car and I know from doing a lot of research it certainly isn't the best car to boost. But from what I have read here and honda-tech, you certainly don't want to cut corners w/ boost. For instance your going w/ the mahle pistons which I can only assume your not going to re-sleeve the motor. Again I have a read a lot and I've read up on a lot of ppl who have boosted h22's w/o re-sleeving and the motor lasted but you gotta have damn good tuning and even then your taking a risk.

On another note your car looks really nice. I would lose the euro tail lights but thats just my opinion...too ricey for me, but its your car, do what YOU wanna do. As for parts everyone is gonna tell you to search. The F/I readme is a really good place to go. Good luck and if ya get the time let us know how the car is coming along.

Also, there are ways to get cheaper parts, but you want it to be cuz you know someone who can get you good deals, not because your buying a cheaper product. It sucks man but this hobby isn't cheap, pay for quality.

If you don't want to make huge power and can keep yourself from turning up the boost DSM 450s will work for injectors, but you'll have to get a resistor box or solder resistors in (5Gs use high impedance stock right?). You forgot any sort of fuel management. Save for that before anything else and find a good tuner in your area.
If you keep the boost down and get a good tune you won't NEED the built bottom end, but a good tuner is hard to find.

Dude, just search for "97-01 Honda Prelude Turbo Kit" on Ebay and they usually come with everything you need. Find a reputable shop in your area and they should install it for around $200 and have it back to you in a week. *Boom!* 400whp!
