On a stock H22 block, you can run a crap ton of boost. Guys are running in the 10's on stock H22 internals. If you master your tune, run good software and stay on top of the motor, you can run a ridiculous setup on the stock H block. Granted, you have to beef up the tranny, and learn how to tune the stock compression pistons; but let's be honest - 10 or 11 to 1 is begging for a super or turbo charger. The reason people generally say you can't run high boost on the stock engine is because there are a lot more crappy tuners out there than there are good ones.

I have seen several well-tuned cars running 7+ psi break ring lands. In my mind, it's just a matter of time on stock pistons. My personal observation is that it takes about a year of daily driving for them to break.
Yes, on the block itself you can run a good amount of boost, however, it's the internals of that block that you have to worry about. Search the forced induction section, you'll find a list of whose motors went toast with FI and why... I can tell you RIGHT now that one of THE leading causes for blown H22's blowing up is because ppl do not beef up fuel delivery properly. Remember, just because you get injectors capable of running up to 10-12 PSI, don't forget that turbos are not perfect and you WILL get boost spikes. Get some kind of safeguard to prevent this or make sure you over size your injectors for what you plan on running.
FUEL, FUEL, FUEL!!!
Tis better to run rich than to not run at all
my ringlands went, thats when i did my build. do your build once, dont try to take the cheap way out and get alot of used and/or cheap parts. Use a reputable brand, shop and tuner to get the most out of a good setup. I'd set aside $4k for EVERYTHING. Don't think you get everything with a $2500 turbo "kit." FMU's and V-AFC's are garbage, get a real ECU with a real tune.
Have any of you guys had any experience with King Motorsports (King Motorsports Unlimited, Inc.) as far as tuning goes? How are the drag turbo kits as far as quality and reliability? I don't want to loose AC and PS.
