How many miles have you put on your turbo setup?
So I am thinking about buying a car that has a turbo setup already on it. I have done much research and basically see that 8psi on a non-sleeved block is about max with a good tune. So what I want to know is how many miles can you expect out of this setup? I want to know what setup you guys have and how long it took before you blew it up.......
The car in question has following:
20k miles on rebuild (give or take)
New bearings/seals throughout
Type-S pistons
GM-5 turbo, hks bov, tial 38mm wastegate at 8psi
worked head
Neptune EM....dynoed 270hp.
Any opinions on long term reliability would be cool too. I dont plan on modding over this, just using it as a daily driver (with occasional, and maybe often, spirited driving).
