hondata gasket

Hey, I'm researching this gasket, and can't figure out what egr stands for. Please no sarcastic search icons with a circle around it that is what I've been doing.

exhaust gas recirculation, basically it takes some exhaust gas and puts it back into the intake manifold. Its supposed to lower combustion temps because the exhaust gases are relatively inert and don't burn as hot. oh yea, when the gasket is put on with it blocking the egr, you'll get a check engine light, unless you did the OBD bypass

directly into the intake manifold, or on the intake itself? Or is it further up the intake?

It flows from the right-most hole here:

into the intake manifold itself via the left-most hole (though it's slightly cut off) here (if you imagine the path of air flow you'll see the large EGR valve) :

Please ignore the sarcastic search icon below.

you could, but the egr will heat up the intake manifold, which is something you're trying to avoid by putting in the gasket in the first place...

I ordered this gasket from hondata and I got a very nice S2000 gasket. Useless for me, of course.
I called them to complain about the issue, they said they would send the correct one right away...they didn't until a few days ago, way after the engine was rebuilt, I finally had to install the Honda one...

NO, actually, I sold the S2000 gasket for cheap on Ebay.
I would have been more than happy to sell it to you!!!

In fact, when I finally received the prelude gasket (too late) I ended up selling it back on ebay as well !

That sucks but I really did not feel like removing the intake again when I just put it together a few days ago.

Oh well... If you want a S200 gasket, I can get one for you, I registered my company as a hondata dealer, just in case.
