Tony, i do a lot of aluminum polishing on the side. I would need more info and or pictures to give you better advice on wha tyou need to do to bring it up to a propper shine. Is there a clear coat on there, is the pipe cast, has it ever actually been polished? Most boost pipes that i have polished for people have not been polished, they are just sort of "shiney". If this is the case (and i suspect that it is) then and normal amount of "wheel polish" will not work that great. You need to take the pipes off and "POLISH" them, either send them to a polisher, or buy the supplies and tackle it yourself, and you would need a bench grinder 2 different buffing wheels, 2+ compounds, cleaners, and possibly some sandpaper if they are really bad.

before

After

Another item i polished N20 tank

that's awsome, you did a really good job, basically the pipping I have is greddy, I'm sure there no clear coat and its never been polish, after this weekend when I put on my sk2 manifold, and sambo hoses I'm going to be taking the pipes off and wet sand it with 2000 grit. And buff them with my machine and c were that takes me..... Is there any other info u need like I said its a basic greddy turbo kit, let me know what u think ken thanks

Tony. unless the pipes are really bad much sanding is not needed. If there are dents and dings i would hit the pipe with some 220 and 400 then go to a Emory polish, then to a white polish to give it color. Emory polish is equal to about 800 grit. So no point to sand finer than that. Let the machine do the work.

good luck and post pics!

Ken..its good to see another polisher on the forums! I haven't been on these forums in years...got into school/work and started drag racing ATVs so thats where all my money goes now

Heres a few of my first pieces...polishing is all about patience and the small details that make the difference

YFZ subframe

450r caliper

Good luck with the pipes, be sure and sand them really good or else the polish job won't come out as best as it can
