Would this work:
1. Put No. 1 piston at TDC.
2. Pull its plug and wire.
3. Ground the plug.
4. Turn the distributor till the plug sparks.(which means it would be sparking at TDC)
5. Advance it a little past there. To get it to fire at 7-15 degrees BTC(where most engines fire.)

Sound good?
Josh

if you have an obd1 car, you should also have timing marks on your crank pulley.

if you have an obd2, you don't need to worry about it if you've never removed the distributor.
