Help me out... (its long) lots of ?'s...

Ok, Ive been looking at this tuff for a while and im getting the hang of it...

however, I have lots of specific questions that i still dont have answered. See, theres not a shop around here or anything.... so i have to know pretty much everything when i go to dallas and get it installed. Yes, ive searched, ive read all kinds of posts, but still i have questions that i need help with first hand, if anyone would like to help.

Most of these relate to 'extras' with a turbo kit. not big things that everyone thinks of...

first of all, what are all of the parts that you would be most likely to forget with a kit? you have the manifold, the turbo, the wastegate, BOV, IC/Piping, DP, Standalone, etc... but what did you guys forget about, or what are the most common parts forgotten by first timers such as myself.

2)what all is needed for a BOV, ok, i can order the BOV itself, but on the site im looking at, theres all these extra things that seem related, like mounting equipment... I know the basic workings of a turbo, but not the workings of the specific components.

3)what are all the parts needed related to vacuum.

4)This may sound REALLY dumb, but is a hondata a boost controller too? if not, explain a boost controller to me please.

5)can i install the AEM bypass valve on a turbo setup? and just make custom pipes maybe? (im stupid)

6)could someone explain the signifigance of these and tell me what they are (do i need them, what components?): silicon connector hose, worm clamps, RR FPR,turbo coolant lines & fittings

7)what other flanges & gaskets do i need for the whole kit?

8)what hardware is needed? or do parts come with the specific parts needed? (ie nuts, bolts, etc..)

9)should i gut the cat?

10)new clutch needed on my car (only 4000 miles)?

11) should i get an air/fuel gage and boost guage? or do i need to monitor other things too?

I cant think of anything else(right now)... this is probably too long for any of to you want to answer it anyways. but if you do, i WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!!!! you dont have to answer all! just help me out please. and if theres anything you think i should let me know, let me have it. thanks guys

Well I don't know a lot about turbos but theres a few things I don't get...
5)whats the difference in diameter of the AEM bypass valve signify? (im stupid)
6)should i go ahead and order parts that i have money for, like intake for instance, and install them, so that when im getting the kit actually put together, it will take less time? or should i just stockpile everything and put it all on in the same day.

What kinda intake are you refering to? A AEM CAI with the bypass valve? OR something else, cuz the intake for a turbo goes right on the turbo. I don't get how you would buy the intake and instal it if you don't got the turbo. And I don't know of any turbo that uses the aem bypass valve either.

11)new clutch needed on my car (only 4000 miles)?

12) should i get an air/fuel gage and boost guage? or do i need to monitor other things too?

I think it depends on how much hp you want to be putting down. Your stock clutch may not hold long if you plan on more hp then stock. Also a egt would be better then a a/f ratio gauge. I hear most a/f guages aren't that precise, unless it's wideband? Not too sure tho.

Oh i forgot about the missing link, its used to keep the CEL off. I believe it hides boost from the MAP sensor. I would believe you got the actual intercooler too right? Its just that you never mentioned it. But I assume you did.

oh, i thought that the AEM bypass valve just was a sort of add on to the intake, that didnt really change the actual fitting.

missing link? CEL?

Yeah, i have an intercooler (picked out) not in my posession.

and whats EGT stand for?

ok, intake was a bad example of things to install before the turbo... but of the things i could install before, should i?

anoyone else have any help for me??

The AEM bypass valve is installed right in the midddle of the cold air intake. It used to prevent water from entering the engine due to how low the filter sits on a cold air intake. I've never known a turbo to use a bypass valve. But I don't see why you can't though, the different diameters just mean the different diameters of the pipe it being put on. I know the aem cai are 3" thus use the 3" bypass valve where as teg and civics use smaller diameters (not sure how big though)
The missing link is part of the DRAG kits I believe, though it can be used for other applications like custom setups. Like I said before its used to keep the CEL off. I believe it hides boost from the MAP sensor.
The egt gauge measures exhaust temps. Therefore you can tell when you start to run lean. I say its better then a a/f ratio meter because most a/f meters are not wideband.
And I'm not sure what else you could instal.... maybe mount the intercooler???
