Help choosing rings

Does anybody know about the nickle cell sleeves in the 97 up Ludes, is it true that you can only use honda rings in the newer h22a's

Re: Help choosing rings

you mean nikasil, which is probably not used in the h22a4. the sleeves are FRM, and unless you like living dangerously, i wouldn't use anything but a stock piston and ring in a non-sleeved prelude motor. if you want to go to forged pistons, you will need to sleeve the block. there are those who disagree with this.

your only other choice is just to rebuild it like stock, turn down the boost, and make sure you have a handle on fuel and timing.

thanx

Thanx for shedding some light on that, I guess I will have to go with honda rings, Do you know where I can get them for a good price. Honda where I live wants $46ea. for them.

I just need this to last till my other motor comes back from Cali.

piston and pin is $39.66, ring set is $35.11

you won't do any better than that.
