Get it back on the trizzack

I used to love the FI section and I keep checking in and there seriously hasnt been a good, useful, content filled post in upwards of 6 months. I am so tired of checking in and seeing the "I want 2 go TurBo wit Vtech n I have 1K so help" posts. What happened to all my old contacts and your projects!?

So, to all the old "boosted homies" where are your projects now? What are your plans and have you learned anything new along the way?

I'll start: I sold my car with all parts to a purchaser 2000 miles away from me. I purchased several cars including an NSX for a project car. I'm currently in the process of of putting all my parts all together before I go see blacktrax. So far I have the BOV, injectors and AEM EMS. I need to spend 3K at Science of Speed on intercoolers, intake and all of their perfectly pre-fabbed custom piping.
Still not decided on which turbo to use. Thinking of the GT40R.

I learned a crap load from boosting the lude ... namely how much money you will continue to spend even when you do it perfectly like I did. Also ... to ALWAYS CHANGE YOUR OIL!!
Let's get some intelligent, content filled discussions going on for once!

The GT40R is nice, have you thought about putting together a hybrid or anything? What kind of power or curve are you looking to get outta the NSX? My neighbor keeps trying to get me to go turbo, gonna give me a turbo off a MX6 and a starion intercooler, I'd basically have to buy Engine management of some sort, a mani, and other assorted parts but he's gonna help me do a nice custom setup... He's been doing fabrications forever so I trust him, just don't trust an H22 under boost, lol

i know i havent been giving much of an update lately but, ive run into problems w/ the local shop i was using. i want my project to completely finished before i put anything else up. since every post of my "updates" something has gone wrong. mostly i was paying a shop that obviously doesnt know what they are doing so i took matters into my own hands .... built the motor myself ...ex pistons, headwork, etc. and have also purchased an s300 where im going to do some of the tuning my self. since money doesnt grow on trees it has taken me awhile.... but rest assured w/ my current setup i made 314hp w/ a blown t3/t04e precision turbo... yea blown... since that last shop i had used, melted my pistons (long story, will post in the update) caused metal debris in the oil in turn killing my turbo. promise an update... soon.

still working on my project,
between Life (my son just turned 1)
an oil leak
Clutch adjustment problems
Problems with the mounted location of the Electric water pump
I have had some set backs and not much time to work on the car.

I have also added the PSPEC short shifter, Kool Flex Rad. Hoses, removed the cruise control and cleaned up the nitrous mounting. I dont want to have to mess with anything after I get it tuned so im trying to get it all done before.

well... have lude A w/ built motor, gt30 on drag mani and emanage. having map sensor cel dtc p1128 that i cant get rid of. bogging and stalling. yay. have to use a piggyback because of emissions.

have lude B w/ stock motor w/ greddy kit. have an ebay t28 gt30 about to go on and a 2.5" dp. just wanna see if a better flowing turbo w/ greddy kit will produce a decent curve. if it does, i'll use it till it blows and get a real one. if not, i know i need to change the whole setup like lude A.

keah,
whats most you made w/ greddy kit? i think a saw a post that said 250 which i would be happy with. would you happen to have a graph of that?

I really want to build a turbo h22 but but im not sure of good products to use for internals and the turbo parts and no one answers any of my threads when i ask for ideas about this! What was your setup? Maybe you can lead me in a direction for turboing my lude! ?

The problem is that nobody can tell you an answer. The parts to use depends on your intentions for the car, and what your power goals are. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. If you really don't know the details, just pay a shop to do it for you anyways. This is especially important if you don't have the expertise yourself.

Do you know of any good shops in the tri-state area? Preferably in NJ or NY?

there are a few reputable shops in the ny area. the problem is trusting them. one i can vouch for is no limit motorsports they recently tuned my lude on boost and did the best job so far. i have been to nrg tech i dont recommend them for tuning.... but as far as the head work and fabrication they are awesome. midnight auto from what i hear now is a really good shop but their customer service sucks. the real issue is nobody really turbos preludes. everyone wants cheap turbo build....and H22 on boost is far from cheap.

but back to keah im workin on a couple things... just did more upgrades... skunk2 intake manifold ...hondata s300 (love it)... and newer turbo... but its a temperorary until i decide on a gt35r of just rebuild what i have now... 300+hp is more then enough for the street so im debating wether or not to get the bigger turbo.
