fuel pump and under the hood temp

I recently bought a F-max turbo kit for my 98 prelude. I was wondering if any of you guys have an upgraded fuel pump. If so please reply with the brand and part number. Also when I installed the turbo I noticed that my under the hood temp increased as well as my oil temp, however my water temp stayed fine. My problem is that one day when I was driving my battery and brake light came on. I thought it was a loose wire so I pulled over. When I looked under the hood, I noticed that my battery blew up. So I picked up an optima gel battery and a new alternator. 1 week after the new alternator was in my battery and brake light came on again, I checked the battery voltage and it was only at 11. I looked at the new alternator and the wires looked fried. So does any one have any ideas about keeping the under the hood temp down or keeping the alternator cool. I wrapped my exhast manifold and down pipe with defi exhast wrap. Hopefully this will help. Any ideas will be helpful. Thanks

You may have electrical problems if your wires are getting burnt. I know the exhaust wrap will lower the under hood temps some, but the wires and battery shouldn't have burnt or blown up. A loose wire can heat up and draw more amperage than normal without blowing a fuse. As for why those things are happenning, I don't think it is turbo related. The turbo and mani can get red hot, but if I remember correctly, the f-max manifold and downpipe aren't as close to the alt and AC comp as a drag kit. Check all the electrical connections, and maybe the stereo amplifier power wires (if so equipped). Unless the wires are in contact with the DP, they shouldn't be getting burnt..... Let us know what other variables you have, stereo wise or modifications to the f-max kit.....

Was it the brake light only? Did the abs light come on as well?

Thanks for the input, I have a stock radio system. I'm not really into sounds. The ABS light did come on for a short time but disappeared quickly. I checked all the wires that deal with the charging system. They all checked out ok. There were no blown fuses however i couldn't really assess the relays. The battery may have blown up because it was either too hot, or the alternator went crazy and overcharged the battery before it went out. The battery may also have been out of water, I didn't get to check the water level before it blew out though.

You should check for abs codes. It is the same as checking for engine codes, just to be sure there isn't a problem with the abs. If you are going to check for abs codes, be sure you are not hitting the brake while you are turning the ignition on...

If you are running the mf2 with 2 secondary injectors, you shouldn't need an upgraded fuel pump. The fuel pressures are sky rocketing like using an FMU.

I'm not sure of the p/n, but I have the smaller bosch pump, it fits fairly well in the tank, unlike it's bigger brother.
