yup i did a search and it looks like iranman's method seems the easiest.........

IRANMAN mentioned:

Quote:
"For me, it wasn't the necessity of the gauge itself that was important, but rather the pre-tapped banjo bolt that's supplied with the $30 gauge kit. This replaces the stock bolt (the one that attaches to the top of the fuel filter), allowing you to attach any 1/8" NPT item, such as a fuel pressure sender, or a 1/8" barb fitting to extend a length of fuel hose up to the B&M gauge itself (see picture here)."
my question is.. can i buy this pre-tapped banjo bolt which allows me to attach any 1/8" NPT thing (ie: my FP sender unit)?

or do i have to buy the B&M kit entirely?.. errg

B&M appears to be the only company that actually sells the pre-tapped banjo bolt (that comes supplied only in the fuel pressure gauge kit). It's only around US$ 30 over here, so it's not too much of a rip off.

If you want, you can purchase an additional banjo bolt from the dealership, and tap that one.

Clearance will be fine. Just run the wires out of harm's way...

The sender should have a male 1/8" NPT end, correct? 1/4" seems a little on the large side, even if it is a rebadged model (I sincerely doubt the sender would be any different).

Yes, it's a good leak deterrent. Be sure everything's on tight.

How huge can this sender be? I know my Autometer one is somewhat large (~1.5" in diameter & ~2.25" long), but I don't think it's ridiculously large!

i wonder if it will be safe to put the sender on top of the fuel filter... might it vibrate and break off someday?

also B&M only sells civic and integra FP gauge sets...
46054 Fuel Pressure Gauge Set '88-'00 Civic/CRX & '90-'00 Acura Integra
46054 Fuel Pressure Gauge Set '89-'00 Mitsubishi Eclipse

where did u get yours? is it a prelude-specific one or a civic?

I don't see how the fuel filter would vibrate so much as to break off the sender.

The Civic/Integra kit fits the Preludes perfectly. Same bolt. Their's is just easier to access. :-/

B&M doesn't sell the banjo bolts seperately and the Integra B&M gauge is the one for our cars as well. I have my B&M banjo bolt that you can have. You'd have to drop by one weekend to pick it up. I'm using the gauge on the port in my fpr, so I don't need the bolt anymore. That is if my mechanic hasn't thrown it out. I know I left it there somewhere in his shop.

It's easy enough to drill and tap the fuel rail or the stock banjo bolt yourself.

be VERY careful with teflon tape on fuel lines. make absolutely sure that when you wrap the threads, no tape is near enough to the outlet/inlet that it will disintegrate in the fuel stream and clog up one of your fuel injectors. you may be working in an area that isn't really in the direct path from tank to fuel rail, but one small smidget of teflon tape in a fuel injector can ruin your whole day.

the autometer instructions actually mentioned to use teflon tape in the 1/8"NPT-to-1/4"NPT adapter.. .

they never mentioned that tip schwett! THANKS a lot for your help.. i'll ensure i am careful about that.

I suggest you use the teflon paste instead of the tape. You can pick it up at CrappyTire in a little red tube.
