? forthose with turbo

Was it worth all the time and money to put in a turbo in a used car knowing the H22 isn't the best under boost. Do you wish you saved your money and put it towards a new car?

i think its worth it. im spending way too much to build my car but even still i think its worth it. i enjoy it and thats all that matters. if u enjoy it then it really doesnt matter how much time or money u put in. those who say its not worth it arent wrong...they just dont get the same pleasure out of it as i do. sometimes i wish i kept the money to buy a diff car but then id be starting with a blank canvas so itd just be a new project. its up to u to decide what is and isnt worth doing.

I am not getting turbo I just wanted to know. I love quick 2 door sports cars but i also like big luxury cars. I would def. put a turbo on my car but then I would be upset I didn't save the money and put it towards and new car. If I got a new car I would be upset I didn't put in a turbo. I think for me, putting a turbo in a used car wouldn't be worth it. Don't get me wrong, I would love the HP and turbo but if I put all that money into it, then I would want to keep it for many years and then I would put mroe money into it. IT is a dangerous cycle

sounds like me. I've changed my mind so many dayam times about going FI or not. All the posts I read about boost makes it even harder to hold back on it. I figure my "curiosity" for it will never go away until I experience it first hand. So here I go...

^^^ yah wat Senate1123 sed...plus....

i love the way the lude looks. plus its not a new car that everyone is gettin. its rare to see a lude....then again a fixed up one...even less a boosted one. so yah, i love drivin around knowin im not gonna see a car like mine around every turn.

ive thought about how much ive spent into my car (prolly around 10k), and think i coulda sold tha lude n got something really new and nice. but then again, i love the ludes body style. havin the body style i like and being fast is jes

h22 is ok under boost...jes gotta get it tuned right. my car is runnin perfect now. after all the tunin and minor adjustments, it feels like my lude came with turbo from the factory. no probs with daily driving....and never fails me when i feel the need for boOOOOST!

^your car looks absolutely badass man. most aggressive, goodlooking front end I've ever seen.

I'm having the same problem deciding if I want to do it or not. paying off all bills and seeing how much cash I come up with. gonna decide next year.

Well I've been a lurker on this board for so long, so I guess it's time to share my plans. I recently got myself a ZEX Dry-kit which I plan to have fun with for the summer and based on that I will confirm if I truely want to go FI.

I do have a second beater car so it makes the decision that much easier. From what I've read, it seems that boost can be achieved and maintained reliably as long as the proper precautions are taken. If I'm still as excited about FI in a year, I'm definately going 6-7psi turbo!

I agree, I ran nitrous to tide me over while i saved for boost, n2o sucks compared to turbo.

The hassle of having to open the bottle, letting the bottle warm, getting the bottle refilled.. its really a huge annoyance.

boost is there, any time any place, any situation, just floor it its there.. no need to wait for bottle warm, waiting for good bottle pressure, or having to pull over to open the bottle.

Hard to say. when it's running I don't regret it, when it's not I wonder what the hell I am doing.

I wouldn't say I would have rather saved my money for a different car though. I would have definitely regretted doing it if I didn't have the money sitting in the bank. I don't think it's worth starving yourself, or being out of your daily driver for days on end.
