Fmax installed, but having problems running. Help?

K, Finally got the FMax kit installed on A Crews 5th gen a few days ago, but we're haveing some problems with it still. hopefully you guys can help out.

For the test driving we were driving around with only the downpipe on.

First off the boost builds really slowly, I'm not sure what the wastgate is set for, but we don't get to 6PSI until about 6k RPM.

The car feels real weak, almost feels like it was faster w/o the turbo.

When crusing the RPMs would also jump up and down.

But yesterday it wouldn't start any more, it would crank but never fire up.

Any ideas on whats wrong?

I seem to rember a post a whil ago about some metal ring or something that suppose to come with the tial wastegate. We got it used and I don't rember getting any little ring with the wastegate. Could that be part of the problem?

Thanks for any help

did you do any fuel upgrades? do you have a fuel pressure guage and a pressure regulator? If you do make sure you're not over working your injectors. I had the same problem I cranked up the fuel pressure way to high and it just didn't start up anymore.

what do your guages tell you. rich lean? do you have any check valves?

Are you using the MSD Btm? Make sure it's installed correctly.

did you adjust your timing and check if the distributor is even getting any spark.

pullout a spark plug connect it to the wire and try to start the car you should see the spark plug fire. if not that is your problem.

*But be very careful not to shock yourself. Take my advise at your own Risk.

Yeah, the first time we tried to start it it woldn't start, we narowed it down to no spark and fixed that problem. Now it won't start again, its acting the same, cranking, but not starting. We'll check it again next time we get a chance to poke around.

Sounds like a problem I had with the MF2, try unplugging the extra injectors and see if the car starts, it may be dumping too much fuel, you might have to purge out the fuel if there is too much in the engine it could be siezed up.

Oh another thing, make sure you buy the Missing Link check valve from EFI, that sounds like what you need for your boggin down problem.

I thought the MF2 only injects past 2kRPM. Not so? How would we purge out fuel?

would backfiring be a sign of running to rich? We were getting alot of backfiring on the test drive. a/f gueges are only as good as your o2 sensor, so I don't put to much faith in them.

We have the missing link thing too.

My MF2 was shooting fuel in start up, never plugged it back in, i have 550's right now........you got to disconnect the fuel lines and crank the engine, make sure no one is standing around them.......

k, we figured out it wasn't starting because one of the wires that goes to the ignition module had come loose. WE fixed that and it fires up fine.

The wastgate wasn't bolted down tight enoguh to the manifold, so thats why we were getting slow boost.

But we still have one more problem. From 4K-4.5k RPM the car bucks. Anybody know whats going on?
