Sold my V-AFC to go for Hondata. Anyone care to share what they're using for their turbo'ed or SC preludes?
Im planning on getting another ecu and Hondata it (new verb), but I hear so many different opinions as to which ecu to use, I'm all confused.
As of now, I'm shopping around for a obd1 gsr's p72, which i currently believe to be the best, but i havent commited to anything so im just double checking which would be the best to use.
I'm currently N/A but almost done with piecing together my custom turbo kit.
If possible, please give opinons on which ecu to use and why.
P72>P28
the p72 has the ability to detect knock via the knock sensor while the p28 doesn't. The p72 also controls the intake manifold's butterfly valves, and again, the p28 cannot.

This is not as big of a deal as people make it out to be. The knock sensor on the p72 only works below 4000rpm's or so...and it is more of a too little too late sort of thing. The p28 can be modified to control the butterfly valves, but when you're pushing big numbers on a FI setup you don't really want the butterfly valves anyway. I run a p28 via uberdata on my 4th gen h22a1.
I looked into this as well. P28 is cheaper and more obtainable. You can simply take out the butterfly valves since it's mostly for fuel economy. The knock sensor isn't very accurate anyway so it's like having an a/f meter hooked up to the stock oxygen sensor. I used a P28 when I had the turbo Prelude.

Hey Anubyss,
Do you still happen to have a copy of your mappings? I'm running a P28 with a 2B and 780cc injectors.

I have a question about this. A buddy of mine says in order to run a P28 on a 5th gen Prelude, you have to swap out the distributor for an OBD1 dizzy. Is this true? Can anyone confirm this?
