f-max first start up......

2 questions:
1) on the intake, there's a little black box between the chassis and the battery, there are some hoses connected to it and a sensor or clip thing attached, can i disconnect the sensor completely or will i throw a code or something.

2) when i start up my car for the 1st time with the turbo, do i need to lub it up with some oil or anything???? much thanks in advance...

if i'm not mistaken the box you're talking about was part of your stock intake assembly, if so, you can remove the entire thing, it's not necessary. just make sure to close any vaccume lines that removing it may open.

as far as lubricating the turbo, you'll be fine as long as you have all the oil lines hooked up correctly and the oil level is sufficient.

If it's a brand new turbo I think you need to pre-oil it.

For the first start up, let the car idle for 5-10 minutes to gently "break in" the turbo. The turbo I bought from Majestic said to do it...

You should prime your oil feed line by cranking the engine over a few time and check that that oil is coming out. Put the end of the oil feed line in a cup, pull the ECU fuse and crank the engine until oil comes out.

Then just idle it like InlineFour said. The turbo spins pretty slowly when the car is idling, not enough to damage it.

u will probably throw a code if u disconnect the black box...it is a vacuum cansister used for the stock intake butterfly....it has a clip/sensor on it....just unscrew it and zip tie it off to the side and remove the vac. hose that use to go to the intake butterfly and put a vac. cap on it

do what Dirtylude said too about the pre-lube

Actually you CAN remove it without any ECU codes whatsoever.
