I been reading these pages for weeks now... learned a whole lot... some great info.. I searched but couldnt come up with anything regarding if a Thermal or Tanabe RM would suitable for FI type driving. I see praises on the N1 being usable, but nothing on the Thermal/Tanabe RM.... I guess while at it too, is the Greddy EVO ok for FI... (didnt search for that one yet though)

the 3" thermal is well known and used by many FI honda guys, but there is no application for a prelude. consensus is that it's LOUD AS ****. if you're running a turbo, perhaps it's acceptable. on a JRSC, i bet it would be ridiculous.

i have the smaller thermal (only one available for the 5th gen), and got no gains at all from it, except noise gains. it is also loud in an extremely irritating way. not recommended except for looks and build quality. in my case, the stock cat and header may be more restrictive which prevented gains.

thx for the response... how about a rephrase of my original question.... is 3" mandatory for FI? (i.e. do you lose power by not having it) or can a 2.5" (standard aftermarket) run the FI ok?

dont get the tanabe if u wanna go turbo . im selling mine to do a custom 3 inch job with an apexi N1
