The only idle valve in the throttle body is the fast idle thermovalve. Mine is blocked, idles perfectly fine at startup, even in cold weather. It's not necessary. What is important is a properly functioning idle air control system, which is independent of the throttle body.

ok, my terminology isn't that great. the only way to set idle on the erick's racing is the stop on the throttle plate. so the only solution i can think of to "replace" the idle air control system is to create one. i'm wondering if anyone has done this or knows anyone who has.

???

The IAC system is not part of the throttle body. Are you talking about the idle adjustment screw on the stock TB?

The IAC system is fully programmable in the EMS, you should be able to use it to get the car to idle properly without an adjustment on the throttle body.
