Emanage boost sensor

Wassup guys,

I was reading a few thread where shark stated that we need to upgrade the map sensor if I was planning to use the 9psi pulley on a jrsc. So my question is how exactly does it work? does it replace somthing? or does it connect to somthing?

Thanks in advance!

Bryan

It adds on. Then in the e-manage, you tell it to get your Y-axis data from the greddy sensor instead of the airflow sensor. Then you can tune off the greddy sensor. But you do have to leave your stock map sensor in and pluged into the e-manage for the boostcut feature (if you have an external map). If you dont have an external map, i would highly reccomend you get a greddy sensor so your e-manage can tell when you are boosting and when you are not. Since your stock map on the TB is before the blower, it doesnt ever see boost (bad tune and pig rich when at ~0vac-0psi) because when you WOT, the map sensor sees 0pis-0vac so the e-manage activates the full boost map because thats the only row it can read. But lets say you are in 5th gear and press the gas down far enough to get 2psi, well since you are above 0psi, the e-manage dumps in fuel rated for 6psi cause it cant tell how much boost you are pushing. Ask if i need to elaborate more.

im a bit confused. you said that the boost sensor adds on... (how exactly is that installed?) then i need a new map sensor? so that the emanage wouldnt be confused if i was at 0psi~0vac or if i was at 2psi @ WOT?

Boost sensor plugs into the 3 pin yellow port on the e-manage. Then you tell the software which sensor to read from. Since the stock MAP doesnt know how much boost you are under, use the greddy to tune the boost.

(you can get another stock external map and wire it to that aux port and tune that way. Some of us, like me, have their wideband wired to that port. so i can datalog that on the same screen.)
