Ecu

Hi, looking into upgrading the ecu. any good piggy-back or after market ecu to recommed??

what do you guys think of electromotive and apexi? anyone has had used them before?

It all depends on how much you want to spend and what you want from it. The big names that are around are hondata, haltech and speed pro, there are of course others as well.

what kind of mods do you have that requires a new ecu? turbo? base or sh? do you want to do anything besides control fuel delivery?

have a jr charger and all the basic setup done. last is looking at ecu to more bhp/torque gain....

lets just say around $1000-1500. what do you recommend? looking for easy self-tunable, self-installable kind, any?? as for hondata, i was told by a local mechanic they don't mfg. prelude's ecu, true?

hondata doesn't make any ECUs at all. they reprogram various
honda OBD I ECUs to new specifications. they do have some maps
for JRSC preludes. going to hondata requires that you first do
an OBD II -> OBD I swap, probably with a GSR ECU or some other
OBD I honda vtec ecu. pure lude has gone hondata, i know others
on this board probably have too. go to their website and find
everything you need to know.
