easy IC pipe beading

Someone may have thought of this already, but you can use JB weld to make beads on the end of pipes for better clamping. Take some electrical tape and wrap it around the pipe ten times or so (to build up some thickness) about a 1/4" from the end of the pipe. Then slap some apoxy on the end, let it sit for 10 minutes or so, and slowly pull the tape off.

The result is a nice bead with a clean line around the bottom of it for a good seal. (I wish I had a pic here.) But, it works.

I wouldn't trust JB weld with my stuff, but I suppose it could work. I'd be worried about longevity of the piping put together like that. IMO Silicon hose clamps would pry work better....

he's not talking about JB welding the pipes together, but rather using the JB weld to make a thicker ring around the end of the pipe, so when you hose clamp it, it seals tighter.

JB Weld has a million uses!

Just about any shop should have at least a cheap mig welder. It wouldn't cost more than a few dollars to get them to weld a small pipe bead for you, or at least some spots along the end of the pipe for the hose to grip on to.

You won't need it for the CAI because on the JRSC, boost doesn't build until after the supercharger.
