Drag Radials

Anybody using bfg drag radials with your fi preludes?? i'll be going to the track this weekend and have no experience with them. I still have the stock trans (no lsd) and stock axles.

What are your experiences with them?

if your running No LSD and stock axles I would reccomend against using any type of slick or cheater slick.
unless of course your not making all that much hp, than you can probally get away with drag radials, meaning under 300wheel.

y? i've ran slicks and radials on stock axels and no lsd. hell i've known 10 sec cars that have run on stock axels and open diff. you shouldnt have any problems with radials. make sure u lower the pressure and heat them up and not launch too high.

well if you have run slicks on stock axles in a prelude with no lsd, you must not be making any kind of horsepower what so ever. Because prelude axles are known for snapping very easily without lsd and slicks.

I heard the stock Prelude axles can handle upwards of 400 whp before snapping.

this is incorrect. I have witnessed a 460whp prelude run on MT slicks for multiple 11 sec passes with the stock axles.

Hmmm...mine must be blessed then because they've probably got >100 passes on slicks with ~25% of those w/o an LSD. Of course that must mean I don't make any HP...

Yup. Thats him. I saw him run 12.5's at E-town, and those were bad passes.

A bunch of us were at the Honda Challenge day at Englishtown. He showed up the dyno plot where he was putting like 423 whp @ 22 PSI down. His best time was a 12.5, but he had a sh1tty launch and probably could've hit low 12's or even 11's.

that is interesting, especially considering i work at a speed shop and deal with 300+whp cars on a daily basis, and they dont seem to be having the same luck in any way......
