Does the DRAG kit come with...

Does the drag kit come with a wg dump pipe and air filter? I talked to option auto and they said I'm supposed to use the stock air filter box. Thats not possible cause of the ic piping I told him, then he said he can't talk about this cuase this is a sales line. He wouldn't say anything about the wg dump pipe either. DId yours come with a wg dump pipe and air filter?

So is there a specific kind of filter to use? I mean I thought the turbo would get real hot and wouldn't that melt the rubber pieces connecting to the filter? What about the dump pipe? What did you do with that? Do I need to custom a dump pipe?

I used a K&N filter, it was small and I hated it! I now use a filter made from air conditioning filter and that wire stuff people use for grills. It works like that cool green HKS filter, but only costs $.99 for the filter and $4 for the mesh. Then you can use the mesh for grills on your ricer friends' cars (J/J).

About the dump tube, it isn't necessary. It would quiet things down a little, but not necessary. A drag kit is pretty complete except it doesn't mount up to the exhaust, and there is significant cutting required. If you aren't too confident, that oil pan is a *****!!!!! ...and should be done by me....hehehe

The turbo is hot to the touch, but the silicone or rubber coupler can take it with ease. Worry about the filter after you've finished the car. I can show you the fast fix or you can buy a K&N filter for $35+....

Yes I did. Well, it can be trimmed. I had my signals and the black things out before the turbo install....

A typical drag kit will have an adjustable WG. Mine was 7-9psi, at least I adjusted to 9, but sagaprelude has it adjusted to 11psi. With an MBC, it is almost adjustable to anything.... The install was a pain, much cutting (unless you remove the front bumper-support). you'd also have to cut the stock air filter hole near the battery. The exhaust doesn't have a flange, or come close to meet with the stock piping. The oil pan has to come off, that alone will take a bit of time. It is on there good. It should take 2 days, one day of cutting and modifying and the next to install. After installing everything, it should run fine. Don't attempt to tune it, you'll be unhappy. I suggest a VAFC before you go and get it tuned.....

Powerwise, I got @ 250whp off the bat. I haven't gone for another test, but maybe soon. If I ever go to a track, I'll have an accurate measure of hp from the trap speed.....

That was at 7psi. It was before and after changing the VAFC vtec crossover, no fuel changes due to shop not having a wideband. The max hp didn't change, but there was almost no dip in power at mid rpms as compared to the factory vtec set-point.

My kit had the greddy type s. I have the t3 stage 3 with .63 housing / T4b v-1 v-2......
