Do it yourself turbo rebuild??????

Is it possible to do a turbo rebuild myself? Has anyone done this at home? Is it a simple process of just dismantling the turbo and replacing the seals, or dose it involve special machines?

It can be done easily, but with the proper tools. Also, most rebuild kits are for straight turbos, they won't sell hybrid rebuild kits, at least not to me. You may be able to get 2 seperate rebuild kits for a T3-T4 if you are so equipped. Majestic turbo charges @ $250 for a rebuild, assuming everything is within tolerance. A T3 rebuild kit costs @ $20. I would rebuild if I had the choice. If your turbo is leaking oil out of the comp housing, it may be time to check your oil pressures and see if they are too high. It is favorable not to exceed 40-50psi max....
