custom turbo

hey guys im a college student so i really cant afford a full turbo kit so i was planing on just mixing it up, whats your suggestions about this thanks in advance.

Well, I guess if you want to try to do it on the cheap, you should check out www.homemadeturbo.com However, often a 'custom' build turns out as much if not more than a kit. It really depends on what you want out of your engine. We don't even know what engine you have....

yea.. take it from me and my backyard special... i ended up cracking ringlands, blown head gasket etc... from doing a custom turbo setup ... now i have pretty much redone everything and even have a built bottom end....so i definitely paid well over what i thought i was gonna get away w/ ! .... in the end... boost = money ...DO ONCE> DO IT RIGHT

i have a h22a4 98 sh . well honestly i just dont want it hitting my pockets because i know if i get a KIT ill end up spending 5 grand after tuning. i want to have at least some money to do engine work but thanks.

With buying parts and custom intake and exhaust piping off the turbo and programmable engine management and tuning, you are likely to spend 5 grand anyway.
