ceramic coating for turbo parts

Would someone care to enlighten us on the benefits (and downsides?) of ceramic coating a turbo manifold? Is there anything else in a turbo set-up that is commonly ceramic coated?

I'm going to try my best to explain this. Ceramic coating will keep the heat inside the manifold which is a good thing. Its not the ehxuast air flow that drives the turbo, its the pressure built up from the gases, and the heat will raise pressures. Thats why building a manifold is such a science because you have a trade off between good exhaust flow out of the motor, and pressure to drive the turbine.
The other plus is it takes heat away from other components, including maybe the intercooler or air inlet. Anyway, If you ceramic coat stuff, i recommend you do the inside and outside of the manifold, the outside of the wastegate base, and the exhaust housing. I am not sure whether you should do the inside of the exhaust housing or not though. Some racers will refuse to do it, and others swear by it. I didnt do it because of doubt. If you need a shop to do the ceramic coating, i can recommend a shop that did all my stuff for a base fee of $150. Same place that does all of DC sports headers.
