Boosting my lude

Iv been wanting to boost my lude since the day i got it and now im finally going to do it. i recently got a good job and money is looking good, im willing to spend around 3-4 grand. the internals will be stock for now. i should have everything i need in about 3 months but the first thing im buying is a turbo my friend has to for sale at his shop that he will sell me for cheap. there both brand new, and im not sure which one will be better for the set up i want. im not trying to push high numbers just somewhere around 250-300hp with like
7lbs. anyway if yall can help me out with the turbos id appriciate it, here are the specs..

there both turbonotics turbos

-T3 super 60 2.35"/2.0" inlet, outlet stage 1 (49mm)turbine wheel .48A/R housing
that one should make up to 315 hp.

-TO4B super S 2.75"/2.0" inlet, outlet stage 2 (54mm)turbine wheel .48A/R housing
and it should make up to 350hp.

if you have 3-4 grand to sell then research and buy the turbo you want, dont just settle for one that is available now because it is cheap!

my whole turbo setup, was right around $3,500 custom work and all.

to get that kind of power safe and not bust a ringland on a piston you should look into a cometic head gasket 2mm should help lower your comp enought along with some arp head studs. most ppl say that it not a good way to lower your comp but but it a cheap and effective way compared to sleeving the block and will last. and if you have it available you can try running e85 instead of 93 octane to further help you avoid detonation. also dont skimp out on a good ecu and tuner thats a big part of how long your set up will last

Thanks for the info on the headgasket I was woundering what kind I should get, and as for tuners I'm either going with jotech performance, or xXx performance tuning. I want to go with xXx performance tuning in pensicolla because everyone has been reccomending him to me, pluse i think Blake the guy who runs it worked on my girlfriends cousins prelude and that thing has over 500hp.

You sound like you're on the right path... just slap that turbo on and if you want higher octane fuel, just fill the tank up with half e85t and half regular gas (87) and you should be good to go. I see no reason why you can't use the stock block either. Also, using a cometic head gasket seems like a good idea, to hell with the research that says a thicker headgasket might throw off timing or could be less reliable.

i had a good friend of mine put thicker head gasket on his bmw when he boosted it and it lasted and never gave any problems as far as a timing problem goes he can just get adjustable cam gears. plus if he wants to make more power on less boost he can run skunk2 pro1 cams which are supposed to show really good gains on boost and youll end up needing the cam gears any ways. and your skunk2 intake manilfold and throttle body are going to help a ton. and maybe a 3 inch exhaust and a quality intercooler you should be able to make good power without stressing your block also if it was me i would run the aem ems but it is expensive as @£$@$%^£ so i dont blame ya if you dont

Lowering your compression will not prevent ringlands from breaking, the problem is the piston design, not the compression.

This said, I would go ahead and boost the stocker as is, and replace the gasket with an OEM one but plan on building a block so when this motor does go south or grenade the down time for the new sleeved/bulit block install will be relatively short.

I haven't been tuned by Blake at xXx but I have always heard good things about his work, and he's a sharp guy and would definitely be a solid choice to go with as a tuner IMO.
