blowoff valve

is my blowoff valve supposed to blow out air at idle?? it's not like a heavy blowing and it still blows off when i shift in boost but it just doesn't seem normal. i don't think it's supposed to b/c that would be like having a huge leak in a vac line. is this normal?? i have an hks off of the f-max setup, and yes i have everything hooked up correctly any help would be appreciated.

The hks racing bov that you have is supposed to let air in at idle. That is why Fmax included the filter, so dirt doesn't get in the IC piping when the bov is open.

that huge filter is supposed to go on the blowoff valve??? how is my hood supposed to close?? are you sure??? i've never seen a blowoff valve with an air filter before. i'll look but i thought that filter was supposed to go on the compressor side of the turbo.

yeah there's is no way that the filter is supposed to go on the bov. the air is coming out not sucking in at idle. i don't think that this is supposed to happen. can anybody confirm this for me??

Make it fit!!....j/k .....On my Fmax kit, I got two K&N filters. One was for the compressor and the other was for the HKS bov. Maybe you didn't get the other filter? If not, then face the bov outlet downwards. If you faced it upwards, dirt and other particles might collect in the outlet and would be sucked in.

It's a bypass valve. Vacuum pulls it open. If you look at the plunger while the car is idling you'll see it's wide open. It allows the car to breath air through the bov instead of pulling it all the way through the turbo and ic piping. It's supposed to be open and you're supposed to get a smaller filter that fits over the mouth of the BOV.

oh ok.......... i guess i just didn't get that filter with my kit. did any of your turbos rub against the motor mount while you were under boost?? it's weird but it seems like something is rubbing as soon as i hit 3-4 psi...... i don't know what the deal is, but it is working and the largest boost i've gotten is 5psi so far b/c i haven't come close to wot. (haven't gotten it tuned)
