blown turbo?

so is the blade in the turbo intake suppose to spin at idle? My turbo is making this really ****ed up grinding sound and the blade doesnt spin at idle (like i remember it doing before i blew the motor?). If that is the case, and it is blown, what are the possible causes? I'm trying to see if there is fowel play involved or not. I've been idling the car down before turning it off. the turbo itself has only seen boost once or twice and that was when i before and when i blew the motor several months ago. Oil feeder/return are hooked up and what not. and this sound started roughly 30 miles away from the mechanic shop of picking it up.

the weird part is that my mechanic has this rx7 with a blown turbo ... i wonder if that turbo works now?

If you feel any play. There's a problem.
Hard to tell if you overspun the turbo or if it suffered from oil starvation or excessive EGT, but the bearing is blown.

I have a few spare T3 bearings in stock in case you want to repair it yourself...

and how much are you looking for them (as many as i would need). the oil feeder had oil in it (i blew on the line and it spewed oil at me) so i dont think its a starvation problem. I dont have an egt so i dont know about excessive egt, but i do know that when i had the turbo originally installed, there was no filter. My best guess is i picked up a small rock or something. I'm still in the process of removing the turbo to anaylize it.

Does anyone know if i HAVE to pull the alternator to remove the down pipe on a drag 2/3 kit. Its a very tight fit and i cant get the turbo bolts with the manifold in place. I've freed up the downpipe and even the mani but still no luck. Just curious...

::eDIt::
i didnt have to remove the alternator i just had to break the four bolts holding on the turbo to the manifold (as hard as it appears) and that freed her up for me. It appears, on a side note, that the blade in the exhaust side is 'wobbly' i dont know if this is normal or not but i would assume not.
