Bill for work done to my car.

I decided to post this for people who are thinking about having work done to their car. Granted this won't be the same for everyone, it should give a "General" Idea of what you're getting into. This was a Rebuild, I already had the Accel DFI, Sleeved Block, Injectors, Springs/Retainers, all my Gauges, Clutch, Transmission, and misc other things. What do you guys think of it? I'll scan my receipt when I get home, that'll make for easier reading. This was also the first time the car crapped out on me, I spun a bearing, ruined the pistons, crank, rods, turbo, etc...
It's now in the shop again, but thankfully bill won't be near this big.

This is what it costs you to redo everything again after the motor blew on you right? How much did you spend total with the origional costs it took for you to build the motor and turbo it the first time? Hope you'll put out some crazy numbers with this set up man. Good Luck

I actually bought the car already done, sleeved block, the whole works. It was done poorly, and not tuned really well, and since I was just getting started into the turbo thing, I didn't know much, I still have much to learn just like everyone else does including the pros, but you learn as you go! I have increased my knowledge a ton just from this board alone. The engine, and all componets of the engine ie DFI, Gauges, etc...It's probably worth about $12000 give or take a little.

Do you know why you spun a bearing the first time? I am just very curious as to why that would happen, most likely due to improper rebuild and installation. But I am still curious. Thanks for any info

I spun a rod bearing. They said it was from overheating. I did overheat twice, one pegged the red, the other time almost pegged the red. I blew my fuse for my fans, and therefor didn't cool enough. Didn't realize it until I stopped, and got a nice look at some steam! Cruisin down the highway not paying attention isn't good.

wow, I guess overheating your engine twice will result in that. Hope you're more careful this time man. Good Luck

I am from Minnesota.

BTW, who did you buy your turbo from, is it ball bearing? The reason why I am asking so much questions is because I am looking to go the same route. Thanks for all the info.

I bought it from the shop that did the work on my car in Fort Collins CO. Unfortunately that was the "phil" price that they gave me since they were doing so much other work. Normally I think it's about $1300 or so. I'm from NE thats why I asked.

Ohh yes. After winter time when I have plenty of miles on the car and have a good feeling it is actually running right, and I won't run into any problems, I plan to boost 15 psi at the track, after that if it goes good, 18, then maybe 20...maybe.
