ATTS can handle 250 hp myth.

Im new to this forum but not new to hondas and cars and I noticed everyone makes reference to the atts systems limit as being a function of horsepower but it would seem more logical that its a limit of torque after all thats its function is distributing torque and like the misconception that a clutch has a horsepower ratting when realy its the torque rating that is important. I'm not trying to nit pick but the torque limit would make a big difference between a na lude with 260hp and 200ft/lb or a turbo/nitrous lude with 260 hp and 250ft/lb. If it were a limit of hp they would both be maxed out, but if it was about the torque the na should not have as many problems. Any thoughts?

My point is when you say it happens at 250hp that might only be 200ft/lbs of torque on a na setup, or 250lb/ft on a fi setup. The atts is limited by heat and its clutches torque limitations. That would mean that the horsepower would be irrelavent but the torque capacity would be the limitation. So why does everyone say 250hp when a high reving setup could produce more horsepower than 250 while keeping the torque within the limitations of the atts clutches. Not trying to offend anybody I just thought there were already enough internet forum myths floating around as it is.

I think your geting "wraped around the axel on this". You are right but most people dont see a problem with ATTS NA, its the FI guys that do. Most of them start to see a problem at 250HP as 250 is hard to do NA, but farley easy with FI.
I think your most basic Turbo/SC kits (greddy jackson) will cause ATTS problems. so if you want to know the TQ should be around 200 when the ATTS is gonna ack up.
