96 lude legal boost?

I don't think there are any turbo or sc kits for my h23 that are CA legal. I was thinking of swapping an h22 and going jrsc, but I have read that Jackson does'nt do it for the 4th gen because of engine bay clearance. This true? Am I screwed for "legal" options?

well i dunno if the JR ems works with 4th gens...so which leaves me to you doing a chipped ecu, which probably means in a nutshell....no options i know of.

Is JRSC even carb legal?

The JRSC is not CARB legal in a 4th gen body (stupid CARB). I don't know any turbo kit that is CA legal; I think the Greddy Turbo is 5th gen legal though.

Thanx. Looks like I'll have to play the old game of cat and mouse with the powers that be. I think the greddy 5th gen is legal also. CARB does suck, I'm obd2 and the h22 was factory in my year car so you 'ld think h22 swap with a legal charger on it would fly. And yes the JRSC claims to be 50 state legal.

Incorrect. The greddy kit is not carb legal in ca. Additionally, even if a greddy kit for another model is carb approved the use of an intercooler, BOV or changing any part of the kit such as a wastegate negates the carb approval.

I still have the full Greddy listing of approved kits and intercooler kits if anyone is interested. When I was running the Greddy kit back before I went custom I even went as far to alter the carb PDF to "show" the lude as being approved. I don't think it would get you anywhere if you were pulled over though

if turbo stick with the h23, h22 isn't so great on gas due to short gears so revs high

Yeah I believe I've read that some members had to cut into the firewall to make clearance for the sc.
