15 psi and not sure of dyno numbers, ideas?

I have a 97 prelude boosting 15 psi right now but Im only seeing 247 whp on the mustang dyno. Are these decent numbers for my setup and Im wondering how much further i can go on this setup? I saw the boosted faqs and saw others doing 13psi and getting over 300whp....wheres the hold up?

I would have to say its in the tune if the motors put together right. your injectors seam a little small to try for 300 plus at the wheels.
the mustang dyno i have heard reads a little low

What injector size would you recommend? i was reading that 440cc was good for 280-330ish, however thats the theory.

The VAFC is a really, really ghetto way to run a turbo. That's definitely the problem right there. The VAFC Hack is an exceptionally bad idea, that was unfortunately popularized in the early 2000s by a lot of well-meaning people. Problem is that its unreliable and you won't make power with it.

Convert to a real EMS and you will be set.

Would an s100 with boost control be good enough?

At least an S300. They're not really that expensive (although not cheap) but you need that kind of precision and tuning power when shooting for a 300+ hp number on this motor. And you injectors are definitely too small, even if you're at a lower altitude. I'm running 9 psi at high alt. on a JRSC and I'm at 80% duty cycle on RC 550ccs and making 240 hp. Also, at 8.5:1 compression, your dynamic compression is considerably lower than a 9-10:1 motor. While safe, you will need more boost to compensate for your safe compression level. Definitely invest in good management and tuning, and you will be pleased with the results. Good luck!

okay, thanks for the response and advice. Off to buy new injectors
Also, with your experience in lower comp, what psi should be safe for 8.5:1 comp pistions? Im not quite sure what would be too high or too low for me to run

I suggest 600-700cc injectors and a chipped ecu running ectune. Ectune is cheaper than hondata and it does the same job. Also get rid of the vortech fmu. It is a hunk of garbage. Just set the fpr to 45psi. You wil probably need a walbro 255 to provide more fuel.

Since everyone is making recommendations, here's mine:

Don't bother with Hondata or ectune. Neptune is better than all of them. Hondata I hate because the people who run the company are douchebags, and ectune I've never heard of. I know the guy that owns Neptune, and he's a very smart capable dude.

Price should all be pretty comparable. Neptune may be cheaper, but I haven't priced it out.

I have been looking into neptune, the demon rtp chip and software, however im not too sure if my utner would be familiar with it. I also liked the idea of being able to have a dashhawk-like lcd monitor they offer as well.

get whatever your tunerknows the best. From an unbias point of view ectune=hondata=neptune. They do pretty much the same function with about the same amount of options.

what manifold do you have?
2.5" DP and 2.3" exhaust doesnt help
CRAP tune

what are the specs on the turbo? not just the trim...

Wheel size? AR?

i see quite a few reasons for it being down on power.

yeah man u need to get it tuned right.. Go with what ur tuner is familar with.. U Could get a p28 or p72 ecu with hondata s200 or s300 if u don't have to worry about emissions and if that's what ur tuner uses.. I have rc 550's and have 230whp with 6 psi

so you have an eh turbo mani, small exhaust and a small turbo exhaust housing. Explains a lot.
