What is the proper way to do a burnout at the strip with Drag Radials or Slicks??

I went to the track a last weekend and did one run on some drag radials, but i don't think i did the burnout right on them. I lined up to the waterbox, and pulled up my handbrake and tried a second gear burnout. my prelude started to pull through the box right away, like my parking brake wasn't holding. So i just did a quick burnout up to the line and don't think i properly heated up the drag radials.

what are your techniques for doing a proper burnout at the strip?

why are you using 2nd gear? 1st gear and the handbreak is all you need

higher hp cars do 2nd gear burnouts, and some do 3rd gear burnouts. what mods do u have? what i do is: rolls in threw the water box and stop just after the box. pull up the ebrake and rev to whatever, then dump the clutch and turn the wheels side to side. as i feel the car start to pull forward i release teh ebrake and roll up. then do a lil quick chirp on the dry cemment then pull up to the line

i did it exactly as you wrote there, but i don't think i engaged the parking brake enough. The reason i did the 2nd gear burnout is because two of my other friends use that technique, but i don't think my car is putting enough hp to the wheels for it. I'm putting down 270hp, 255tq on a mustang dyno, which is like 300/285 on a dynojet. So next time i'll be using first gear, and pull up the parking brake as far as it will go. thanks.
