Went to the track again

Well I went to the track again, and I have to say I'm still real dissapointed, my nitrous was even working this time and all I could pull off was a 14.6 with a .534 reaction time. I know it's all in my launch It's taking too long to get into vtec, I have to find some way to launch and be in vtec, then I know I can hit 13's. I also still don't have a exaust so I know that's restricting my n20 shot a little. I also ran a 14.9 which is real bad, and tried some different launching techiniques with a whopping 15.9 and a 17 ha ha. But how else are you gonna learn if you don't try something new right.
I do want to change my nitrous brand though or try to find bigger jets for my kit, because I want a 70 shot to the wheels not the crank, as it is right now my shot is rated at the crank, so I actually only have a 42 shot that's what I'm getting to the wheels.

What kit do you have? Thats one thing I like about my NX kit...its rated at the wheels and each shot is usually underated about 10whp. Anyway I havent been to the track yet with my kit so I dont know how I will do either launching it.

BTW what kind of tires you have and what rpm do you launch at?

why not go with a bigger shot? my h23a auto can handle an 80 shot [on stock fuel pump] which was dynoed to show its a 55whp increase, and im pulling 14.5s.

what kind of 60 foots are you getting?

I would love to get a bigger shot, but I don't know where I can get one, I'm running the 70 shot, that's the biggest the kit came with. I got a 2.4 a 2.5 and 2.6. 60 foot time,I'm trying to launch at different rpm's I tried 3000 which seems to hook up good, but I'm too low in the rpm range and it takes too long to get into vtec, I tried launching at 4000 wheels hop horribly, and at 4500 I get nothing but smoking tires. I know it's just gonna take some time.
As for tires I just bought the brand new line of sticky icky falcons.
I beat my friends brand new 350 z though.

i guess you shouldnt really go with a higher shot unless you wanna get a beefier aftermarket fuel pump [walbro 255, $109 + free shipping, if you are interested lemme know] but you could always up the pills to an 80shot, might get you a little extra punch. what kit do you have?

It's the 51320 kit, I think that's the number, it comes with a 30 40 and 70 shot, something like that, it's been a while since I used the other pills. It's just the single dry fogger kit. I am going to call NOS tommorrow and see if I can buy the bigger jets. Then get my vafc tuned a little rich, I wonder if that would compensate, for a extra 10 or so shot, or if I would even need it.

Does it really matter when u get into vtec if u have a good launch?? What would be better; 2700rpm launch and get a low 2.3 60ft or a 5k launch and be in vtec sooner but get a 2.5 60ft??? I used to launch my NON-VTEC car at 2700 and pull low 2.3's all the time

I really don't know, I know I have to be in vtec as soon as possible, from what I'm getting from people there is a way to launch with a good 60 ft, and be right there for vtec, that's my problem, my car seems to hook decent at around 3 grand launch, but it's taking it to long to get into vtec, without my vafc tuned.

It makes a huge difference if you can launch right from the 5200rpm launch. If you know how to launch the car you will be able to pull just as good of a 60ft with launching from 5200rpm.

wow that's pretty impressive with a basically stock 5th gen, I have the new falkens too, there great, like said above it just takes alot of practice, and there is too much time inbetween my trips to the track. I need to go a couple times a month I think to get any better.

well cosdiring, I have about almost 20 horspower more to the wheels than you and 15.1 is my best time, because my 60 foot times suck, yeah I'd say that was pretty good. I haven't seen many 5th gens run that.
