Went to the local track on it's last day of the season hoping to break into mid 14's with the new mods and a tune up. Well 3 runs later the best I had to show for it is a 15.4@90.8. TERRIBLE showing for the lude. I ran a 14.9 @92.7 on bald yokos and an intake earlier this summer. But with the new mods consisting of, no power steering, AEM alternator pulley, a vafc w/ vtec set at 4700, brand new kumho 712's, valves freshly re-done, new fuel filter,oil change (engine and tranny), and new plugs/wires that's the best I came up with.. Left the track very discouraged and asking questions on how i lost 3 mph on my trap and nearly .5 a second in the 1/4 (have a best of 94 mph). Oh yeah and the very last run he started the tree early, got flustered and spun myself to a 2.7 60' and a 15.7 @ 88.9
My friend wants to check out my valves because he has a feeling honda may have over tightened them, and I'm gonna pull my plugs and see if they are gapped correctly. Other than that I can't explain a 3 mph trap loss when I should have trapped better.
