ran the lude

last friday i ran the lude, only mods being a cone filter. only got 3 passes and ran 15.9, 15.8 an last time it was a 15.7. 60ft's were 2.5 on all but the 15.7 pass an that was a 2.4. noticed i have a broken motor mount( serpintine belt side) but could that affect this that much? it makes sense cuz its gettin nasty wheel hop an the mph stuck at 89 couldnt get any more out of it. and my buddy has a 99 with cold air an muffler, he drops the clutch at 3000rpm an just spins enough to get into vtec and he runs 15.4 with no wheel hop really. idk seems slow to me, could it be that im shiftin to high? shift every time at around 7300-7500rpms

5th gen tachs are slightly off, shift at what the tach reads as 8k. It's a more accurate redline than 7,400 as displayed. As for launching, I believe there is a lauching technique tutorial in the FAQ's somewhere around here.

just read about that. so after i do the motor mount an figure out how to clean the vtec solenoid, change the iab diaphram cuz its torn, and clean the iac im gonna run again an shift as the tach says 8000. as for my launches i was doin what the faq launching techniques said to do. think the motor mount was affecting that alot, instead of just wheel spin where you can pedal it i had nasty wheel hop.

Practice makes perfect. When I first started attempting to launch my prelude I had nothing but wheel hop, 3 years down the road I think it's pretty safe to say i've gotten a bit better.

ive drivin plenty front wheel drive cars. this car has nasty wheel hop from the broken motor mount. its a totally different story when no matter what you do you get wheel hop becuase no matter what you do the motor is moving way to much back an fourth. either way the motor mount will be fixed an we will see better track times.
