ok guys, i went to the track...

ok ive been twice in the last week(my first time, and my second)
mods: 93 si with jdm h22- aem cai, custom 2.25" cat back with ghetto muffler, aem pullies, h23 tranny, 17s(pretty light ones) and kumho 712s.
ok heres the deal, i did 20 runs the first day out, then 8 the next time. the first time all i wanted to do was hit 14s, but it took me til the last run to do it. i hit this on my final run

now i had run 3 15.0xx runs in a row before this, and i even got a 2.31 60ft time in there, but this was my fastest.
on the second time i was there, i just wanted to get into the 14s consistently, but i didnt crack them once. i did 8 runs, and i figured my average afterwards, and its 15.1xx. what is the deal here? i want to see 14.999 or better consistently ,but i just cant...i dont know why not

Well you deffinently have the trap for consistent 14's. Just keep on working at it and you'll be there.

2.4 60 ft sucks. Work on your launches, get more 2.3s like the one you ran the second day. Your times will come down.

dude thats insane we have EXACTLY the same setup save the chip, and we run the same times lol. ok so if 2.4 60ft sucks, then why did i get my best run by far with one? i cut many 2.3 60ft times, and never cracked 14s..
also 2 other issues:
1. on my 1st to 2nd shift, i get some wheel spin, should i adjust the gas so that this is a smoother transition? would it really make a diff?
2. i am at the screaming top of 3rd when i go over the 1/4 mile line, should i shift before hand or ride it out? sometimes i hit the limiter just as i go over the line...

I have to shift to 4th by the time I get to the end. Guess it depends how fast you can shift if you want to do it or not. You arent making anymore power that high anyway so I say go for it.

The rest of your run was better. 2.4 60' DOES suck, especially for a JDM H22 powered car.

heres the deal...if your spinning between 1st and second its costing you, it made like a 4 tenth diff on my car, by having grabbing traction going into second..also...you should shift to 4th...ive run my best times and fastest traps by hittihng fourth...just keep practicing it...especially your launch, i run consistent 2.2s and some 2.1s on my stock wheels and tires..with no LSD...just taked practice..my very first time out my best was a 15.1 lmao

ok thanks for the advice, i am going again on the 16th so im gonna practice the launch, and really practice not wheel spinning on the 1-2 shift. i had been launching at a little above 4500, but i want try launching at even higher like you mentioned. i'll also shift to 4th this time...thanks guys

Are you running on the wheels in your sig, or other wheels? If you're running other wheels, ie 15s, I'd definately drop the tire pressures a bit. It'll help with the launches, and also with the 1-2 shift.

i have been running the wheels in my sig cause they are lighter than the stockers, but i have considered running the stocks just because of tire wear, i can beat on them and not care much...what tire press would you recommend for the 17s, i usually run them on the street at around 35-36 psi. and thanks

Well, with my stock wheels, I would drop the pressures down to mid 20s. Usually around 26 worked best for me. But, before letting that much air out, you'll want to go down a few psi at a time. That way you don't let out too much air. You have the 94-96 stock wheels right?

i have the stock si (non saw blade style) wheels. i think i am gonna run my 17s again though, cause i want to have a better idea of how my car runs on the street. im gonna go with around 26psi i think..
