need help with my 60'

I have gone to the track twice now and I have only been able to cut like 2.4 60'. This is on street tires too. I know my car can easily get like 2.2's how do you guys do it. I usually launch around 4500-5000 on the track depending on conditions.

This is exactly what I do, and this was on the stock tires
Driver side tire 20 psi
Passenger side tire 18 psi

Hold RPMs at 5000 rpm
Drop the clutch, hold the gas where it is for a moment
As soon as you get going floor it.
This would get me 2.2xx 60 ft's consistently
You really have to feather the gas or you will have massive wheelhop. keep practicing

yeah i have the question..

also, whats the difference between "dropping" the clutch and "slipping" the clutch? and is feather the same as modulating?

Dropping the clutch is completely lettin out fast while slippin is to kind of let it out slower so it doesnt engage completely so you dont lose a lot of traction. I would say feathering is the same as modulating.

your going to have to Slip it to get good 60s, dropping it will result in wheelspin..i launch at 5k, and slip it, run 2.1 and 2.2s all day, no LSD..with crappy tires, now ive got brand new tires, so it will be a little easier for me..peace

last night i was reading about launching at 4000-5000 rpms here and i always launch at 3000 and get mad wheel hop. My best time just with intake was 16.0, thats was hella bad, i was seeing stock ludes here get like mid 15's, so i went out to this cutty road by my house and did the 4500 rpm launch and no more wheel hop, also i have now is i/h/e, im going to the track on wed. and ill let you know, in hoping fo high 14's or low 15's, im ending in third at 95, so i think ill be able to be with a good 60 foot time, peace

You can't compare street launches to track launches ......you'll always hop way more at the track (due to the VHT they spray on the starting line).

I drop the clutch at 2500 rpms and cut low 2.3's on stock Bridgestones

Same method on BFG DR's no wheel hop 2.20 60's

Just practice and find what's best for you
