Hold revs at 4500rpm, go on last yellow light, slip the clutch and feather the throttle to control wheel spin/hop, and shift at 8000rpms. Takes some practice to get good at it. Just have fun!

It's better to "feather" the clutch rather than to just dump it. That way you'll be more in control of how the car takes off from the line. 8K on the stock tachometer is past the redline, but the stock tachometer is also not 100% correct. So at 8K, you'll be fine and in a high enough range to land in VTEC for the next consecutive upshifts.

Hey guys, we'll i finally came back from the tracks, but i have a question. I know that you all told me to shift at 8000rpms and i tried to do so but, everytime my tach needle reaches 6900rpms the engine would bog and would not push any further. Is this the Honda rev limiter? Is there anything i can do about this situation? Thanks for any help.

Nope. Sounds like you're in limp mode. Do you have a CEL? If not, something is causing this problem. Start with checking your oil level.

Fuel cut off (Honda rev limiter) is around 7600 rpms, which reads 8100 on the tach. When it happens, its like someone has shut down your engine. Once the rpms drop, you can resume speed.

Could you explain "limp mode"? i do have a CEL and its a bad o2 sensor CEL which i have pushed the tach further than 6900rpms before when i had the code. My oil level seems fine to me, right between the min/max holes.

Why are you getting this cel in the first place...testpipe? If its your "primary" o2 sensor, then it needs to be corrected.

Limp mode is a term used to describe the safe mode that the ecu goes into when it sees a serious problem. Certain functions are restricted/limited, such as vtec cutting out at 6900 rpms.

I see, i've just fixed my primary O2 sensor, and now its a CEL of P0131, (low voltage?) and i dont dont why its doing that. I've swapped the brand new O2 sensor out and redid the whole thing but still got the same code again. So your saying my car is in limp mode because of this O2 sensor? Because other than the O2 sensor, i do not see anything else wrong with the lude...What i just dont understand is, the car exeeded 6900rpms before i even replaced the BAD sensor. So, how could it got worst after replacing the O2 sensor?

Yes. If your secondary o2 sensor is tripping a cel...no biggy, but if its your primary...its a problem.

I don't know what that code is, but I'll GUESS that the problem is not a bad sensor now, but something wrong with the wiring. Double check the wiring, then reset your ecu and see what happens.

Since I'm no expert on engine codes, you may want to start a new thread in the General forum listing your codes and describing the problem. I'm sure you will get better responses than here.
