Help me analyze my timeslip

Ok.. i made three runs tonite at 15.584@89.83, 15.668@90.58, and 15.422@92.01.

Here's the details from my best time.

Reaction .823
60 Ft 2.353
1/8 ET 9.946
1/8 MPH 73.52
1/4 ET 15.422
1/4 MPH 92.01

I ran out of NOS when I was trying to purge it at the starting line.. I knew I shoulda filled up the bottle first... too much highway battling. So unfortunately.. i didnt get to clock my car on the juice.

So tell me how I can improve. I know that's a horrible 60 ft time.. but i can't seem to get any better than 2.3xx.

I usually rev up the motor to about 4-5k, then i play with the clutch so that im spinning out my tires.. but still at a constant 5k or so before it finally catches and im off.

Man.. i'm ashamed to even say my mods with those crappy times.

The 92mph trap is good for high 14's if you can get the 60ft down to 2.2 range.

Yeah, I agree with bk. Nail your launches. You should be running better than that with your trap. BTW: How does it feel that an Si with only I/H/E runs the same times as you, at elevation in heat?

your traps seems afully slow depending on your mods..your avatars indicates you have JUN stuff.if so, then your traps are really slow and have nothing to do with your launches..and 2.3s arent all that bad on street tires

well what are your mods..i only have cai/h/e/chipped ecu cam gears/ and a vafc thats set at zero on everything and i ran into the 13s..with trap speeds in the 101-102 range..with no internals so if you running JUN products and bolt ons you should be going faster than 92 mph in the 1/4...have you tuned your car?

where are you shifting at? You are pretty much running stock times. Make sure you take it up well into the redline.

yeah.. im shifted right after redline.. at about 8k or so.

engine mods i have
jun cams, retainers, valve springs, cam gears
sheepdog exhaust
dc 421 headers
field vtec controller
aem pullies

i also ran with my 17's at full tire pressure... and no. i havent tuned my car yet.

i just bought a fuel rail and fpr.. im waiting for those to come in before i dyno tune and maybe up my nos jetting size to 60 or 70.

may want to tune your stuff. i have i/e/p/vafc (untuned), running a test pipe with a modified stock header, and no balancer belt and I am trapping high 93's. Though like you I suck at launching so I am running 15.2's or so.

But as far as trap speed with cams I would assume you would be faster than me.

wow ...you have JUN cams...i would expect you to trap higher than me, also i didnt see anywhere that you have cam gears...im completely stock internally, and my best traps are in the 102s..full interior...first thing you really should get rid of your DC header, they suck plain and simple..i gained 3 tenths and almost 3 mph by switching to the Greddy SS header..you definately need cma gears to tune your cams, you should be pulling traps higher or at the bare minumum as high as me..right now your basically running bone stock times for a standard 4th gen vtec.....im also looking into the JUN setup next year, but with my head done and type S cams im looking at approaching the very high 12s all motor with slicks...youve definately got some work to do with your tuning and setup...good luck

doesn't HRP just suck? Even though it's close to sea level, cars run slow here.. atmospheric pressure??? It seems we run 5 tenths slower than some of the 'fast' tracks.

With that said, you're car probably needs some tuning, and is it running the OBD2 workaround or anything??
I hated my 5th gens for that reason...
at HRP my 5th gen ran
Stock: 15.6@88-89mph
AEM CAI: 15.6@90mph
AEM CAI/Mugen Exhaust: 15.6@90mph

Now, with my 4th gen
AEM CAI/Greddy Header/Custom Exhaust
60ft: 2.354
1/8: 9.666@ 76.52 mph
1/4: 14.94@ 94.15 mph

I'm gonna go back soon, since that run I've changed to stickier tires and have installed ES motor mounts..

As for your 60ft, you're probably better off on stock wheels than 17s.

Well, maybe I'll see you out there one day... haha

In your case right now, I think there are no other option(s) than to get your car tuned and get those 60 ft. times down.

You should deffinently be running faster than that. My pretty much stock lude (has an e-bay cai) ran 14.989@92.74 with a 2.4xx 60'. With your mods I'd think you would run a bit quicker than me. My best trap of the night was 94. And i'm not the lighest guy either (220ish).

plus, he had a 2.4x 60 ft. time. If he could get that down to a 2.2, then he'd potentially be looking at a 14.7 or better.
