first time at the track horrible wheel hop

Well first time i ran it i got...15.925
With a 60 ft at 2.543
i dunno...i dropped the clutch at about 4.5K and it just bounced bad...untill it grabbed...

Now to prevent wheel hop at launch...i searched around and found that slipping the clutch a lil more will help?
Will more traction help with wheel hop or make it worse...I was running 45 psi in my tires...if i lowered it to say 32....28 have a better tire patch...for traction...would that make it worse...or help it?

Drop that tire pressure! Are you on stock wheels? You should be able to pull at least a low 2.3 60ft, which should drop your 1/4 mile time to around 15.5 or so.

i had wheel hop yesterday and today too, wow 42 psi did you say?, i was down to 15 and thats where it started to stop , this kid in an si was at 8 psi and he had some great 60fts i ran a 15.5 that was my best with a bad reaction time , so ya take the pressure down, and i strongly recommend the fpr mod got me .6 seconds no lie, i tried it both ways

The most common used tire pressure for drag racing is around 18-20 psi. The thing about dropping your pressure is that it helps because the sidewalls on your tires sag and grip more, but the lower you go, the harder it is to keep a good speed at high mph. But using anywhere from 18-20psi is good.
