First run with the lude

I completely spun through all of first gear, and hopped real bad, and i have no idea how to launch. I have an 91 base 5spd and ran a 16.1 Slips in my car, ill post rest of numbers later.

First & second run were a 16.2

All runs i missed 4th gear completely (but that was at the end of the race last seconds or so)

Post the slip so I can analyze it, Judging by the time you ran, I'm sure your getting bad 60' times.

Well first of all sounds like you made the beginner mistake of popping out the clutch while launching, with what you described. When launching any car at the track especially the lude, the key to good 60fts(what tells you if you had a good launch) is modulating the clutch not dumping it. It sounds bad but try playing around in the 5k or 6k range of the power band when launching. Hold it steady while playing with the clutch and modualting the gas. When you feel traction just slowly let the clutch out and floor it. Peg the needle til 8k , shift everytime there becasue the stock tach is off and in reality 8k is the 7600 fuel cut off. And when at the track let out air from your stock tires and rims to about 20lbs. Play with this also. It will help you catch traction. I did all this and ran a pretty good time with my 5th gen cutting consistent 2.1 and 2.2 60fts on stock tires and rims along with my volks. Hope i helped ya out a little bit. Have fun at the track next time ya go. Good luck with the times.

also, don't shift into 4th until you know you are gonna trap more than a 95... that will take you to the higher 14s...

there is NO reason to shift into 4th on stock lude run it out to 8k

When i made my 14.5 runs i shifted into 4th as i crossed. Every single run was a 94 or 95 mph run. Holding it in third til you hit fuel cut doesnt do **** as i know from experimentation.

True, i forgot how that was. It was so damn long ago. hahaha then again when i launch i burst out the line already at 6k. Maybe thats why for me i hit 4th as i cross and see what i ran looking to my right.
