just took my lude to the track for the first time since getting it. fisrt run...16.9 @ 84 mph...ouch, need to learn to launch at the track better. second run....16.0 @ 87 mph. better, still spinning off the line....3rd run i tried something i do on GT3, put it in 2nd gear and go. bad idea. bogged but didnt spin. need to ride the clutch more maybe. ran 16.6 @ 85 mph. need more practice but not totally disapointed. car is basically a stock si motor wise. only took the filter out of the stock box. wieghed the car in at 2820 lbs. i just wanted to see what it ran stock before doing any mods to the car.
16.0 isn't a bad time for an stock Si. you're lookin to be right in the high 15's or low 16's stock. So you're doin fine. Get some stickier tires and your times will drop. Mike
i should take my stereo system out before i run it next time. im sure that would knock of a couple tenths. i heard every 100 lbs is .10 of a second. the main problem is the traction problems. i have michelin pilot tires which arent bad, but not meant for drag racing. i want to find some stock rims and maybe add slick tires to it but i dont wanna be that guy whos running 15's on slicks.
hey dude, just check out some of the other drag threads for some pointers on how to launch they should help you lower your time a bit. excellent job on getting out there and giving the lude a run. it's always great to see how fast your car can run the 1/4.
