So....for the 05 drag race season i decided to concentrate on my all motor and getting everything down before dropping the bottle back in. Its been a pure struggle with 14.4s and 14.3s being the bes ive been able to pull lately.
14.2, 14.1 14.0 in there....FINALLY this past weekend at CMI (california modified imports) series in sacramento i got into the 13s. 13.9@101 mph.
2.1 60ft with an r/t of .051 (zero tree). I backed it up again twice. I had my BFG street slicks on as usual...and i finally "broke" the tranny to allow me to power shift...ive had a problem in the past with 2nd locking me out unless i granny shifted. Now...i just need to get my usual r/ts back to normal (usually i hit .001-.03..never got that perfect one yet ) and put some slicks make a few more mods to the engine and hopefully ill be in the 12s on my daily driven 5th gen all motor
just needed to share cause this was a huge thing for me seeing as how long ive tried to get there. Weird how i did it in 105+ heat, on a non-prepped track and spinning thru first gear... cant wait for October. the only thing i did different was 1. re-tune the car and 2. didnt give a **** about blowing it up.
What do you mean by you "broke" your tranny cause sometimes I have to granny shift into second or it just doesn't feel right and by the way congrats on that time girl, thats pretty impressive.
nice, good job. Ill be out there next season too! except im going fully built turbo with 2.3l bore. I was debating between throwing 10k into my motor or saving for an 04 STI. But i decided to build the lude because in my opinion it feels more accomplishing and fulfilling to make a slow car fast rather then buy a fast car if you know what i mean.
