Does the suspension matter in drag racing?

Soft front, stiff rear - does it make a diff?

yeah suspension does make a difference. w/ stiff coil springs in the back it will help pin down the front of the lude at take-off. which results in better traction. it also helps having the front height lower than the rear. but that is tricky cause you would want 0 camber.
