It's when you race for a consistant time. You pick a time they put and try to get as close to it as you can. If you go under that time, you lose. Basically you can beat 9 sec cars if their time moves all around and you run 25.4 or whatever all day long.

Bracket racing

Wow, Can't believe not many people are aware of Bracket racing.

Here's the basic low down.....

Take 3 time trials during the morning

Pick your dial-in (the time you think your gonna run)

The track then takes the difference in the 2 dial ins and gives the slower car the head start accordingly.

Who ever gets there first with out "breaking-out" (going faster than your dial in)or "red lighting" wins

Reaction time and Consistancy are king in bracket racing

Pretty cool to see 12 second cars track down 18 second cars down the far end of the track

As far as advice goes;

Get a good light and make sure you shift the exact same way evry time (don't miss those shift points)

Your car would probably be more consistant in Auto mode (less driver error)

Yes it is cool too see the 12 sec. chase an 18 sec. I went too scd in LA on friday i did pretty good. Lets see i won 4/5 up against;a 73 camaro, SLK, 5 gen lude,91 accord h-22. Can't remember the 4th one i beat, but the 5th gen put me in third. I know it's all about whats on the time slip but I missed 2nd, At that point kissed my *** goodby. I definately had a good time. I was on 17's. Next time on the 26th i will def. lightin my car and put my 15's on the front. Still nothing like a good steet race!

Try and shift around the same point each run. and try not to
mis-shift or redlight. Yea I seem to remember beating a black 4th gen last friday at SCD (whats sup eddie I didnt know you were on here.)

Although I made it to the final round I mis-shifted 2nd and went home with the runners up trophy. oh well there's always next time. Practice will help a lot also.

Good Luck next time that is,
-Jeff-
