Best Way to Launch?

I just read that dropping the clutch is not a good idea. What is the best launch technique?

let it go slowly while pressin the gas. if you drop it you will get mad wheel hop and that's no good, i would just take it to 3.5rpm and take the clutch out slowly while pressin the gas it worked for me

I rev to about 4500 rpms then slowly release the clutch, once you start to move a little then I drop the clutch, usually gets me 2.2xx's with a few occational 2.1xx's, ON STOCK TIRES WITH NO TREAD. But I motor mounts too so that helps.

I rev to 5000-5200 and feather the clutch. keeping the rpm as constant as I can and when i get going enough letting the clutch out all the way.

i've gone to the track many times, and it's a track issue. i go on wednesday nights when there isn't as many people, and because of that they don't put an VHT down. And that combined with having suck bald a520's and rubber from the dragsters i spin from a 2k rpm feather. many rwd cars were only pulling 2.3's so i'm going back when i get fresh tires and they put vht down for some better times hopefully.

What mods did you have when you ran your 14.24? What tires were you running? That's an incredible time man!

15.02 is pretty good IMO. I ran a 15.7 @ 92.XX . My 60Ft was like 2.4 something.

I think I'm headed out to the track this friday, gonna see if I can make an improvement.

1/4mile : 15.03 @ 92.9 not 15.02
1/8mile : 9.72 @ 73.4
1000ft : 12.58

60 ft : 2.35
330 ft : 6.35

0-60 : 6.75
0-90 : 13.87

note: This is shifting at about 7600, this weekend I'm going to try and go for a sub 15 run and shift closer to 8,000.

don't shift closer, shift AT 8k... ring that thing out.
oh reset the ecu and beat the living CRAP out of it on the way to the track
you can easily pull 2.2s on your 60ft, so raise the revs and be slower on the drop.

You always want to preload on your launch to keep all that stress off your drive train. The way I do it is stage the first yellow light rev till about 5500 rpm and release my clutch just enough for the car to roll and stage the second beam and I hold up my ebrake with the cluch still slithgtly engaged and the car still wanting to pull forward. Once in the second light at wot with the 2 step at 6500 rpm at the green light dump the clutch and release the brake. I have pulled 1.6 60fts on slicks and have not hurt any of my drivetrain yet.

^^That sounds like a good idea. I was thinking about that, but didn't know if I would break something.
