Hey...i did a search and cant find shiat on 5th gens with REAL drag slicks. I dont want to run my stock 16' rims so.......im wondering whats the smallest size steelie or rim we can put on without having clearance issues?
what does everyone reccomend? what size? how big of a spacer? etc. drag radials arent cutting it and i need to lock down to the ground tired of spinning thru all of first.
i know that both Lenso and Bogart will custom make me a set but i dont want to spend like 1g on two rims....so is there some one else that makes them? welds?
ALSO...will the Bogart Drag-on-flys 15x8 fit on the 5th gens?
No i dont think so, Type R's run 15inch slicks all the time, and they're rims fit on our cars. Just make sure the offset is good. For sure though, well pretty sure, its gonna rub the fender. So just raise that bad boy up.
thanks so much bolivian. whats your name btw? i always see your posts but ive never caught your name. thanks again. im going to try those slicks out. cant wait!!!
You can never tell if it's going to rub unless you know the offset. If it's at least +45 on a 15x8 then you shouldn't have any rubbing issues. I tried in some 7.5" wide rims with a +38 offset and I didn't rub (And I'm tucked in the front, and flush with the wheel well in the back).

The names andrew, good luck. Never hear too many 5th gens out there running slicks, go out there and tear it up!
Also aobut the rims njot rubbing, 8 inches wide is pusing it, and since they are slicks chances are they will have massive side walls and will be real fat and wide. They will rub buddy trust me.

I'm pretty happy with them...ran mostly mickey's before these but at the time I was buying M&H was the only one w/ a 24.5 for a 15" wheel (MT has since released one...) They stick really well but you've gotta get a good amount of heat in them. I've had my best luck running about 11 or so psi and getting them nice and hot. I don't know how the compound differs on their street slicks but I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Jesse...i have a 69 mustang....Jei has a 69 firebird. i bought M&H for his car. I dont know of a slick that will fit ...see about finding some street slicks...ill what i can find and get back to you. You can also fit 15" rims from another car with the same lug pattern.
Andrew...i actually contacted Bogart...and they told me the 15x8 will fit on my car with a small spacer. so im going to look into getting a set and then putting some MTs on there.
Ian..i noticed that...you have to do some serious warm up on the M&Hs.
To Alphajesse, look into some Type R rims and 22x8x15 inch slicks. Those are good enough to hold you down for about 300whpish. What are you going to use them for? N/a or force induction?
I'm going to use them for everything. But I really want to stick with the stock wheels as I have 2 sets.
I'm the kind of weirdo that doesn't want different wheels unless I buy some of the same style (larger dia) to run in the back.
I have access to some accord steelies if I need them, but I don't want to
