4th gen vs 5th gen (drag)

what would win in a straight up drag race.
a stock 96 prelude vtec or a 98 type sh

umm yeah the 4th gen would definitely win...its so much lighter. and the fact that you said type sh makes it even worse, because the sh is heavier than the base (ATTS is like 200-300 more lbs or something like that)-making it worse than the base in a drag. if it was a base model 5th gen vs a 4th gen vtec, it would be closer. i own a 5th gen only because it is a newer style and i like the way it looks better. in retrospect, i think i would've been happier w/ a 96 vtec instead tho, because of how it looks on the inside and the performance it gives

4thgen would win way lghter look at my videos on youtube or look at Bahamas drag lude folder i have videos there being stock beating 5th gen lude with coupld goodies

depends on the driver. on paper, it would give a small advantage but there are so many other variables involved.

and to answer the original question, all things being equal, a 4th gen should beat the 5th gen.

btw, the 96 vtec is probably the worst vtec model of the whole line. why? odb2
